Kingsman: The Secret Service (2014) Dir. Matthew Vaughn Adventure, Action, Comedy, Thriller and Crime I decide I would watch this because I’d seen trailers for when it came out and decided to watch it, especially after seeing Firth in “The King’s Speech” The first thing that I noticed was the editing particularly in the fight scenes because they’re sped up, when normally for a spy movie they would be slowed down. It’s quite simple technique when you think about editing especially as I don’t think I’ve seen it done before in fight scenes- that’s why I think it works so well. I also found that I liked the sound design because songs that tied into certain event or feeling onscreen like when Eggsy steals a car and messes about with it to spite his stepdad’s gang. The song played is Bonkers with the lyric “ Some people think I'm bonkers, but I just think I’m free” playing at that moment to introduce Eggsy and his relationship with other character like his mum and his stepdad’s gang me...
